I Cried

I really did cry tears if joy this morning. I am listening to Obama's speech as I type this and I am just choked up. History has been made tonight. The reality of this is hitting me as I look at my kids and pray that this man can begin the healing this country needs. We as a country have been devastated by our own hand and by natural disaster. With out vote many of us have laid the hope for a better future in his hand.


As happy as I am I still wonder what this will me for blacks in general. Will this be the excuse people will try to use to cover up the racism that still exist. Will the old black guard be able to give up the nonsense and support a man this man who is not catering to their agenda. How will this affect me and my kids down the road.


I really don't have any answers. What I do have today is hope. I hope I did not realize had been slipping away till it returned at about 11PM November 4Th. It is now about 5AM November 5Th and I have to get ready for work. Life keeps going as it always will. But today I have a little more hope in my heart. I honestly believe there is a man in the White House with the best interest of America at heart.


And yes there is a little doubt and fear. He still has to make it through 4 years of men and woman who know nothing but politics and have forgotten what they are suppose to really represent. But even that can not destroy the new glimmer of hope that Obama has created in my heart. The future looks brighter if not for me than for my sleeping angels.

Letting Your Soul Be Heard

Being Witnessed
When we allow ourselves to be witnessed by another, we cannot help but be transformed by the experience. Whether we are sharing a personal experience, standing in front of friends to celebrate a special occasion, or expressing our unbridled joy or sorrow in front of a loved one, we are allowing ourselves to be seen and experienced in a very intimate way. To be witnessed is to let ourselves be seen as we truly are in that moment.

Our friends and loved ones can easily be witnesses for us, if only we are brave enough to let them. Your next birthday may be the perfect occasion to experience this sacred act: Invite your friends and loved ones to your special day. During the celebration, stand in front of them and thank them for being there for you. Feel their gratitude, attention, warmth, and support, while noticing the sense of safety you feel as they surround you. If you feel inspired, share your innermost thoughts about the day and your life. You may be surprised at the feelings of peace and validation that arise within you, when you feel safe enough to go deep into your soul and share yourself with those you trust.

Anyone who has ever seen love, admiration, acceptance, or appreciation reflected in a friend or loved one's eyes knows how transformative that experience can be. When you bare yourself to another, you are giving them the gift of you and showing them that they also matter. In letting yourself be witnessed, you are letting others into your intimate space, stepping in the sacred container they have created for you, and creating a cauldron of positive affirmation, support, love, and goodwill that will stay with you forever.

It has been some time since I have posted a blog or even updated the website. It has been a busy summer and I just haven't had the time to complete the article I have been working on for about 3 months. When I created this blog for this site I also created a review blog for Sexy Ebony BBW African American Book Club and I created a blog/site to explore my love for romance novels. So most of my time has been focused on literary pursuits. But I have not forgotten my Sexy Ebony Fam. This blog space will not lay unattended for much longer. Weight Discrimination

This short post is purely about sharing information to make you think. While surfing the Internet I found an article about a Yale research study on Weight discrimination. In essence, the study found that weight discrimination has increased 66 percent in the past decade. These results do not surprise me in a time when you can be proud of being anything but big. Don't get me wrong I believe in being healthy. I am currently doing more and more research to bring well rounded content to this blog including research on weight loss options and healthy living. But size discrimination is just wrong and affects many people daily. The problem is that many people do not consider it a problem. We, the plus size community, have the problem because we do no walk away in shame and hide our fat selves in a dark room.

The Image of the BBW

I know it has been a while since our last blog post and I apologize. But the website and the blog have not been forgotten. We are always seeking bloggers and blog topics so feel free to contact us if you have any suggestions.

Now on to our actual blog.

BBWs take many shapes and sizes. With that in mind, a number of artist and entrepreneurs
have taken the BBW form and made it their own through art. These artist have different styles and different visions for the BBW form. What they all have in common is a appreciation for the curves that make a big girl special and unique.

One of my personal favorites is Nigel Morgan [http://www.nigelmorganart.com/]. I found Nigel some time ago when I was looking to revamp the website. I was not sure what I was looking for at the time but once I saw his work I just knew he had a vibe that would give our website a classy touch and feel. Let me tell you the brother has talent and an eye for the bbw form that just makes you say damn.

Another of my favorite BBW artist is JNESS [http://www.scarletbbwart.com/]. If you are looking for sexy BBW art you must check out this brother's work. Most of you have already seen it because it can be found all over the BBW community on websites, myspace and various online groups just to name a few locations. JNess's work features BBWS of various shapes and sizes and in his gallery you may even see pictures of the orginal model for the work. Trust me the site is worth even a quick visit.

Another artist with hot and sexy BBW images is CeeJay [http://ceejaysfinebbwart.bravepages.com/]. His art runs from you more classic images to the erotic all depicted in a way that emphasizes the BBW form in it's glory. You can even find some of CeeJay's work featured on the Sexy Ebony BBWS 4 Blkmen website. The flash banner highlighted on the website's banners and links page was created by CeeJay. Categories of BBW Admirers

In my years of interaction with the BBW community both online and off I have found that most BBW Admirers can be placed into certain categories. Below I have listed these categories in a way to make the guy brother easy to spot once you know a little about him. Many BBW Admirers will fit into multiple categories and as always people change so their category may change as well. And please do not use this list as your BBW Admires bible. It is just a list I have created based on my observations. don't let this list keep you from getting to know someone. This post was meant to make to smile and make you think so have fun and let me know what you think.

Categories of BBW Admirers

1. The DL BBW Admirer- The DL BBW Admirer will love you to death as long as he does not have to do it in public. In private he is the perfect man; loving, giving and affectionate. But he will treat you like his sister, that is assuming you actually leave the house. He will always have an excuse not be scene in public. He will never introduce his BBW to his friends and family and he will avoid meeting hers. He will never take the risk of anyone he knows finding out he actually likes big girls.
2. The Ugly & Desperate BBW Admirer - Ugly is just such a harsh word but let's face facts there are ugly people. And yes ugly is a relative term but there are those individuals that just pretty much define the term for most people. Now the Ugly & Desperate BBW Admirer suffers from low self-esteem. He will seek out BBW women believing the myth that she is desperate and lonely because of her size and will ignore the ugly.
3. The All BBWS Are Easy Admirer - The All BBWS Are Easy Admirer is a predator. He targets big women for sex and whatever else he can get out of them. When the girl becomes too close he will pull away but he will try to stay connected because she is a source for sex, money and any number of things. He will pray on those so desperate to have a man they will ignore his disrespect.
4. The All About The Big Girl BBW Admirer - The All About The Big Girl BBW Admirer dates big girls exclusively. But this does not mean he will date every big girl. Every All About The Big Girl BBW Lover is different. Many seek a certain body type, weight, or specific characteristics that are often found in BBW women. Some just seek out big girls no matter the size.
5. The Super Sized BBW Admirer - The SSBBW Admirer is an All About The Big Girl BBW Admirer who prefers the really big BBWS. In many cases the bigger the better.
6. The Thick Girl Admirer - The Thick Girl Admirer is an All About The Big Girl BBW Admirer with a preference for BBWS on the smaller side of scale. These fellas usually look for thick hips and thighs but in general she will be from a size 14 - 18 and very curvy.
7. The Big Handsome Man BBW Admirer- The BHM BBW Admirer is the big guy who loves a big girl.
8. The Lover of Women - The Lover of women enjoys all women big and small. He is a rare bred. I have only met a few in my 33 years on this planet.
